While many organizations are reducing the number of tools they use, creating a sustainable solution to the complexity problem also requires vendors to ensure their tools are increasingly interoperable and facilitate improved visibility as well as automation, he says.

In a video interview with Information Security Media Group at RSA 2020, Reed also discusses:

  • Why security’s worst enemy is complexity;
  • Findings from Cisco's CISO Benchmark Study;
  • The need for better infrastructure automation, visibility and integration.

Reed is senior vice president of product for Cisco's Security Business. Previously, Reed served in a variety of other roles at Cisco and held a number of senior positions in large-scale enterprise software businesses.
