Watch for 'Visual Hacking'

3M's Rooney on the Need for Privacy Screens
Ben Rooney of 3M

"With the rise in awareness of visual security threats in general in large organizations, the advent and the rise in open plan office environments, it's become more and more of a concern for companies to protect data that's inside their organization, as well as outside," says Ben Rooney, a marketing executive at 3M.

In an interview with Information Security Media Group at Infosecurity Europe, Rooney discusses:

  • The need for visual security defenses;
  • The widening of visual security concerns from a focus on mobile workers to those working with sensitive information inside the organization;
  • Regulations in the United Kingdom that govern data breaches - visual or otherwise.

Founded in 1902, 3M now manufactures 60,000 products used in homes, businesses, schools, hospitals and more. Today, one third of 3M's sales come from products that were invented within the past five years.
