Dave Jevans Says Technology Plays Role, But Social Engineering Education Is Key
Spear phishing, well-crafted socially engineered wire-transfer schemes and mobile-app overlay attacks will continue to escalate, which is why anti-phishing education is becoming increasingly critical, says Dave Jevans, chairman and co-founder of the Anti-Phishing Working Group, a global coalition focused on unifying response to cybercrime.

Jevans, who also serves as vice president of mobile security at cyberthreat defense firm Proofpoint, has 20 years of experience in Internet security. His previous positions include senior management roles at Tumbleweed Communications, Valicert, Teros, Differential and Iron Key. While serving on the CEO's technology council at Apple Computer, Jevans helped to develop the company's Internet strategy.
